Make all medical charges public. Charge everyone the same thing for the same service. If you cut off my arm, my insurance will pay 80% or 50% depending on their contract with you and the hospital. Medicare would only pay you what they think they should charge, which I personally think could be too much or to little depending on the job you do. If I have to pay out of my pocket I'll get charged too much, I'll pay part, then have my credit ruined by a collection agency. Secrecy is bad for public service customers and patients who aren't allowed to shop around.
